Professional:Serve Illinois Commission: Scott works as the
Deputy Director for the
Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service.
There he supports the State's volunteerism efforts and assists
with several of Illinois' AmeriCorps grants.
Senator Obama's Moline
Office: Scott assisted the Field Director in helping the Senator's
constituents in Northwestern Illinois. This had Scott
traveling to many counties to ensure that the people of Illinois
were being heard by their representatives in Congress.
Scott also attend events for the Senator when he, or the Field
Director, could not.
National Archives and
Records Administration: Scott spent a summer working for the Presidential Materials
staff of the National Archives in Washington, D.C. There
he was able to work with the White House to ensure that the
people's documents were being preserved for history. Some
of his work can be found at the Archives, Wilson, Ford, Nixon,
and the soon to be constructed G. W. Bush libraries.
Speaker of the Senate -
Western Illinois University: Scott represented the Students of Western Illinois University as
both a Senator-at-Large and then as the Speaker of the Senate.
There he was able to fight to keep tuition costs down and to
improve the safety of the students.

Service:Scott has been a member of
the Boy Scouts of America movement for nearly twenty years.
He is an Eagle Scout, and currently is an Assistant Scoutmaster
for a local Springfield Troop. He also served as a Lodge
Chief and Section Vice Chief for the Order of the Arrow, "Scouting's
National Honor Society." In the Order of the Arrow he was
honored as a Vigil Member, the highest level an Arrowmen can
achieve, and received the Founder's Award for his unselfish
service.
Along with his work with
the Boy Scouts, Scott has volunteered countless hours of his
time to several organizations such as Habitat for Humanity,
Model Illinois Government, St. Baldrick's, and the Animal
Protective League. He is a recipient of the President’s Call
to Service Award (4,000+ hours of service).
